Thursday Afternoon Art Workshop   1:00 - 5:00 pm

Are you working on a painting project? Bring it to the afternoon workshop. We will work with drawing basics, color, composition and ideas. Oil, watercolor, acrylics, and pastel are OK. Work sessions run from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoons. Maximum of 4 to 5 per workshop. Email or call if you would like to join in.

$25 per workshop.

Drawing Skills
Thursday, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Join in Thursday mornings and work on the fundamental skills of drawing. Much of the material is based on "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards. Using an integrated approach, I teach the four basic skills of drawing:

One:the perception of edges (line)
Two:the perception of spaces (shape)
Three:the perception of lights & shadows (value)
Four:the perception of relationships (proportion & perspective)

A fifth overall skill, perception of the whole, or gestalt, forms naturally as the first four skills begin to take hold.

Your drawing efforts will be rewarded as you pursue all other aspects of your art. Good drawing skills are part of the foundation upon which good art is built!.

Cost: $25 for each session. Maximum 6

Class availability and dates depend on signups. Minimum 4 participants.

Draw from the live model

If you can learn to draw the human figure with reasonable accuracy, you can draw anything else. Learn basic anatomy and body proportions with lots of feedback. Participants should have some basic drawing experience.

Minimum 4 students, 6 sessions: $120 plus model fee
Model fee is $60/session split by number of students.
